Shoppers are embracing retail technologies, as they are proving to boost the shopping experience and make the shopping experience easier.
That’s a prime finding from the Consumer View report released by the National Retail Federation.
“Technology has become part of our everyday lives, and consumers are open to adopting technologies that make shopping easier,” NRF Vice President for Research Development and Industry Analysis Mark Mathews said in a release on the findings.
“Retailers know this and are embracing investments in technologies that improve customer service and the customer experience whether it’s online, in store or on mobile devices,” Mathews added.
According to the report, 63% stated that retail technologies and innovations had improved the shopping experience on mobile devices, while 66 % said technologies had done so in stores and 80% online.
Consumers are interested in technologies that show whether a product is in stock (55%), help compare prices or provide reviews (49%), make it easier to find a product and location (47%) or try an item before buying (38%), according to the release.
